The Swedish designer Anne Nilsson (born in 1953) studied glass at the California College of Arts and Crafts as well as glass and ceramics at one of Sweden's most prestigious art and design universities.

She has been associated, as a designer, with Orrefors since 1982. In her ability to elegantly combine simple designs with function and crafts, Anne Nilsson has become one of Sweden’s most important glass designers.

A few of her distinctions include three Excellent Swedish Design awards for collections she has designed for Orrefors: the Celeste candlestick in 1992, the Celeste set in 1993, and the Dot collection in 1996.

She has also designed other successful collections for the brand, such as Raspberry and the Cirrus candlesticks, which are part of the current assortment.
