Pia Törnell (born 1963) studied at the University of Arts, Crafts & Design in Stockholm with studies in glass and ceramics, and she also has a degree in art from Birkagårdens Folkhögskola. She is currently active as a ceramicist, designer, and artist, and she runs her own ceramics studio.

Her work has been shown in a number of solo and group exhibitions, primarily in Europe, but also in Japan and the US.

Törnell has received several prizes, including Excellent Swedish Design, EDIDA Sweden in Elle Interiör, and Design Plus Award, International Frankfurt Trade Fair Ambiente.
