Monogramming

Monogramming suits a long list of occasions, including weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. Initials are usually placed in the order First, Last (larger), Middle. For example, a John David Smith monogram reads JSD, with the S larger than the rest.

Couple monograms for weddings and anniversaries follow Groom, Last Name, Bride. John and Mary Smith would read JSM, with the S as the larger letter. Same-sex couples have two options: both last initials (John Smith and David Jones would be SJ), or a single first initial each (J and D). Mary Smith and Jane Jones would be SJ, or M and J.

Company Logos

Engraved crystal makes a lasting impression as a corporate gift, an award, or a piece for a special event. All company logo orders should include artwork in an acceptable format. Camera-ready artwork is required for etching logos and specific designs.

Supply artwork in high resolution, at least 300 dpi, as an EPS, AI, or PDF file in sharp black and white. Web artwork and .doc (Microsoft Word) files are not acceptable. Vector artwork defined by points can scale to any size without distortion and stays sharp at any resolution.

For a clean result, avoid all caps in Apple Chancery, Park Avenue, or Shelley Volante script. For engraving with a lot of text, Helvetica or Apple Chancery in lower case work best, and bold, open fonts work best for deep etching. Include the names of all fonts used in your art file. If a font is not available, we will substitute our closest etchable option. For larger corporate orders, visit our Business & Corporate Gifts page or email customercare@orrefors.us.

Art Designs

Beyond names, monograms, and logos, we offer custom art designs for something truly one of a kind. Our engravers can etch decorative motifs, patterns, illustrations, and bespoke artwork into premium crystal, turning a single piece into a personal commission. It is a meaningful way to mark a milestone, honor an achievement, or create a versatile gift no one else could give. Share your idea and our team will help translate it onto the crystal with the same sand-etching precision found across every Orrefors engraving.

What You Can Engrave

Almost any Orrefors piece can become personalized glassware. Sand-etching works beautifully across the barware and stemware range, so you can mark the glasses people reach for. Popular options include wine glasses and Champagne flutes & coupes, ice buckets & bar accessories, DOFs & tumblers, whiskey glasses, vases, bowls, and home décor for milestones and keepsakes. Add names, dates, monograms, or a company logo to create custom barware and drinkware that recipients keep and use for years. An engraved crystal piece makes a unique gift, fitting for a single keepsake or a full set.

The Right Gift for Every Occasion

Engraved glassware fits the moments that matter most. A monogrammed pair of Champagne Flutes & Coupes makes a wedding gift the couple will raise for every anniversary that follows. Through the spring and summer wedding season, personalized stemware is one of our most-requested registry pieces. The gifting calendar runs all year. Valentine's Day calls for an engraved set for two. Mother's Day and Father's Day suit a personal monogram on a favorite glass. The holidays bring requests for engraved sets and corporate awards, so ordering early matters when a deadline is involved. Because engraving adds 2 weeks after proof approval, plan ahead for any dated occasion, and consider an Orrefors gift card when time is short.

Why Orrefors

Orrefors has shaped crystal since 1898, with our roots beginning in the forests of Småland, Sweden. Every collection is created by a named designer, so the piece you personalize already carries artistry before your inscription is added. Our design-first approach is what sets Orrefors apart.

Much of our crystal is still made in Sweden, and our non-leaded crystal is produced under ISO 14001 environmental certification. At Orrefors, we aim to create engraved glassware that is premium, personal, and made to last.
