Magica

Orrefors is proud to present a first collaboration with designer Andreas Engesvik, renowned well beyond his native Norway for his contribution to contemporary Scandinavian design. The collection lends its name and inspiration from the laterna magica, or magic lantern – a medieval slide projector and arguably the origin of modern film. The connection becomes clear once you see the votives up close. The collection uses shading and textured glass to achieve ambience-adding light diffraction and patterns. Another bonus is the integrated geometric shapes like the super ellipse and super circle, a time-honored trademark of Scandinavian design. So, what are we waiting for? Let the Magica begin!
